You’ll walk out with advanced approaches to 5 key lighting set ups: dramatic effect, comedy, silhouettes, night exteriors and interview.
Design-oriented Cinematographer Luke Geissbühler will teach his methods and best practices using case studies from the more than 50 features and docs that he’s filmed. Luke has excelled as a cinematographer in nearly all genres of filmmaking with over 30 feature films, 25 documentaries, and countless television shows and commercials to his name. Some of his achievements include having shot Borat, the documentaries Buck and Helvetica, as well as Sir Patrick Stewarts’s tour de force performance in Match.
Students will learn dramatic lighting techniques Luke used to film Patrick Stewart, Dakota Johnson, Sacha Baron Cohen, and many others. Luke will also draw lessons from his commercial work with Victoria’s Secret ads, and documentary work like Buck, Helvetica, and Netflix’s Abstract: the Art of Design.
